Abstract

Computerized treatment planning systems (TPS) are used in external beam radiotherapy to generate beam shapes and dose distributions with the intent to maximize tumor control and minimize normal tissue complications. In this study, we calculated the absorbed dose rate using Monte Carlo method onto five different biologic organs, which are cervix, bone, lungs, muscle, and phantom for comparison.The relation between absorber dose rate and depth shows exponential decay. Among five organs, cervix shows the highest absorbed dose rate, with total absorbed dose rate of 58,232%.
