The Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS) of Urfu Village is developing mangrove tourism. At the same time, scientific data is not yet available on the area's suitability level and the environment's carrying capacity for mangrove tourism activities. Hence, this research must be carried out to support the sustainable management of Urfu Bay mangrove tourism. The objectives of this study are: (1) knowing the tourism suitability index (IKW); and (2) knowing the carrying capacity of the Urfu Bay mangrove ecosystem (DDK). The study time is six months, which is April to September 2023. This research is located in the mangrove ecosystem of Urfu Bay, Biak Numfor Regency. The research method used is a survey, while random sampling techniques, observation, interviews, and literature studies carry out data collection. The results showed that the mangrove ecosystem of Urfu Bay: (1) Very suitable as a mangrove tourism area with a tourism suitability index (IKW) value of 2.85; and (2) Has an Area Carrying Capacity (DDK) of 381 people per day. This study concludes that the mangrove ecosystem of Urfu Bay is very suitable and prospective for developing mangrove tourism.</em></p> Kristhopolus K. Intensive fishing activities cause stress on seagrass ecosystem biota, one of which is Siganus spp. It is known, that some Siganus fish live and breed in seagrass ecosystems, so the existence of habitat and the continuity of their life cycle needs to be studied for scientific data on Numfor Island. The objectives of this study are: (1) analysing seagrass biodiversity, and (2) identifying spawning ground Siganus spp. The research method used is a survey, while data collection is through square line transect techniques, in situ measurements, and interviews (questionnaires). The results of the study obtained are: [1] Seagrass dominance index is low; [2] The Shannon-Wiener Index (H') is moderate at Kansai, Kornasoren, and Andei stations, while at Bawei, Mandori, and Wansra stations are low; [3] Seagrass evenness index is classified as the community in stable condition at Kansai and Bawei stations, while at Kornasoren, Andei, Mandori, and Wansra stations classified as community in unstable condition; and [4] The identified spawning ground locations of Siganus spp. fish on Numfor Island are Kansai, Bawei, Mandori, and Wansra stations. S. aureus is a pathogen often associated with human infections, and this research sought to uncover the leaf extract's ability to inhibit the growth of this bacterium. The research method involved the collection of Rhizophora sp. mangrove leaves and the preparation of infuse extract. Subsequently, antimicrobial activity testing was conducted using the disc diffusion method. The research findings showed that the mangrove leaf infuse extract had the capability to create growth inhibition zones in S. aureus cultures, indicating significant antimicrobial activity. Therefore, the research will be conducted to find out the marketing channels and marketing margins of Smoked Skipjack during the Covid-19 pandemic and the new normal. The research lasted for 6 months at the Mama-mama Papua Market, Hamadi Market, and Cikombong Market. This research method is purposive sampling and be analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative. Based on the research results, it was found that the marketing channel started with fishermen in Dock 9, Jayapura City, who sold their catch to collectors, then collectors sold it to traders who processed fish into smoked fish and smoked fish traders sold it directly to consumers. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the market that had the lowest marketing margin was the Cikombong Market and the highest margin was the Hamadi Market. During the new normal, the highest marketing margin occurred at the Hamadi Market and the lowest was the Cigombong Market, followed by the Mama-Mama Papua Market. During the Covid-19 pandemic and the new normal, efficient markets were the Papua Mama-mama Market, Hamadi Market and Cigombong market, because had &lt;5% efficiency.Then during the new normal, marketing efficiency at Hamadi Market, Papua Mama-mama Market and Cigombong Market were efficient because it had &lt;5% efficiency.</em></p> lolita Tuhumena Basa T. Unknowledge about fishing techniques with purse seine catch and fishing catch tools with various and function. The objective of that final on board training purse seining gration to identify the facilities and infrastructure used in carrying out operational activities purse this and can identify the catch. The results of observations during the implementation of the final on board raining show that work procedures within purse seining gration of FB Enterprise, in the Makassar Strait consist of 2 main activity stages namely setting and hauling. Based on the results of observations, it can be concluded that the work procedure for on board fish handling starts from preparation, fish loading , sorting, washing fish in baskets, placing fish in pans, storing fish in the ABF hold at 18<sup>0</sup> By using freon, after that the fish will be packaged when the fish has frozen. The aim of this research is to determine the abundance and diversity of coral fish in the transplant area which was carried out by the Center for Marine Resources and Fisheries Studies in collaboration with PT. PLN (Persero) Main Unit for Papua and West Papua Regions on Harlem Beach, Tablasufa Village. Data collection on reef fish was carried out using the underwater visual census method. The abundance of reef fish analyzed was a group of major fish, indicator fish and target fish, and the Diversity Index used Shannon-Wiener. Based on the research results, there were 437 reef fish found in monitoring I and 589 reef fish in monitoring II with a total of 35 species from 10 families dominated by major fish groups, namely around 82.52-88.56%, and target fish. which is around 10.98-17.15%. The highest abundance of individual reef fish was found in Monitoring II. This shows that the number of reef fish presence is increasing. On the one hand, higher diversity was found in monitoring I, namely 2.00 than monitoring II, namely 1.90. Based on the Shannon-Wiener category, the diversity index is categorized as moderate. This diversity index is thought to be because transplantation has not been effective in functioning as a habitat for reef fish, as indicated by the very low presence of indicator fish, namely only around 0.34-0.46%. One of the success factors of hatcheries is the hatchability of fish eggs. Egg hatchability is the percentage of eggs that hatch after a certain time. The hatchability of fish eggs is certainly influenced by several factors, one of which is pH which affects the chorionase enzyme in eggs. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different pH in the media on the hatching of nilem fish eggs. The research method used is an experimental method with a complete randomized design (RAL). The mainmain parameters used in this study are embryo development, hatching rate (HR), larval abnormality, and larval survivale (SR) and the supporting parameters used in this study are temperature and DO. The results showed that pH treatment had a significantly different effect on the hatching of nilem fish eggs. The best result of HR in nilem fish was 95% at pH (9) and the lowest result of HR in nilem fish was 15% pH (11). The hatchability relationship of eggs given different treatments formed a quadratic equation. The results showed that pH treatment affects the SR value. The best SR result of nilemfish larvae was 93% at pH (9) and the lowest SR result was 0% at pH (11). Accordingly, conducting a study on fishermen is imperative. The primary objective of this research is to discern the characteristics and knowledge of local fishermen pertaining to terubuk. The employed method involved conducting interviews with 30 fishermen who specialize in catching terubuk. The collected data underwent descriptive quantitative analysis. The research findings revealed that all respondents were within the productive age range, and those engaged in supplementary occupations outnumbered the Bengkalis minimum salary. Local respondents exhibited a commendable level of knowledge, demonstrating an ability to articulate scientific concepts accurately, although utilizing diverse linguistic styles. In conclusion, this study posits that fishermen perceive the necessity of exploring alternative livelihoods that leverage their local knowledge. The research used an experimental method by directly measuring the geometry of the net, namely mesh size, net diameter and knot height. The research also analyzed data on breaking strength and net elongation which were correlated with net geometry. The condition of the net when tested was dry. There were 4 treatments used in the research, namely control nets, nets that had been used by fishermen for 1, 2 and 3 years. The results of the research stated that the highest average gillnet mesh size value was for the 2 year net treatment and the lowest was 3 years. The highest average value of net diameter was the 1 year net and the lowest was the 2 year net. Meanwhile, the highest average gillnet node height is 1 year and the lowest is 3 years. The correlation value of net geometry with breaking strength has varying values. Breaking strength is closely related to the height of the knots in the mesh with a positive value of 0.77, whereas for mesh elongation all the mesh geometry indicators have negative values, so each increase in the mesh geometry value will decrease the elongation value.</em></p> Ratu Sari Mardiah Yaser Krisnafi Roma Yuli F Hutapea Mathius Tiku Sony Anwar Copyright (c) 2023 ACROPORA: Jurnal Ilmu Kelautan dan Perikanan Papua 2023-12-15 2023-12-15 6 2 56 61 10.31957/acr.v6i2.3435 Sebaran suhu dan Salinitas di Perairan Kayo Pulau, Kota Jayapura <p><em>Temperature and salinity are oceanographic parameters that play an important role in physical, chemical and biological process in the sea, such as in mixing process, dissolved oxygen concentration and the distribution of marine organisms. This study aims to determine the distribution of temperature and salinity in the waters of Kayo Pulau, Jayapura City. The study was conducted in November 2023. Temperature and salinity were measured using a digital thermometer and hand refractometer. Water samples were taken at a depth of 1 m at 5 observation stations spread around Kayo Pulau Village. The study found, the temperature in the waters of Kayo Pulau ranged from 29.2-29.5°C, with an average temperature of 29.3°C. The salinity in Kayo Island waters is very high, ranged from 33.40-35.00%<sub>0</sub>, with an average of 34.28%<sub>0</sub>. Di Kepulauan Yapen Papua Sebagai Bahan Bioplastik Dengan Penambahan Kitosan <p><em>Indonesia produces 64 million tons of plastic waste every year and 3.2 million tons of it is thrown into the sea, so research needs to be done to create plastic that is environmentally friendly and easily decomposed (bioplastic). Alginate and carrageenan are polysaccharides produced from seaweed which have potential as materials for making bioplastics. This research aims to determine the effect of alginate and carrageenan on the quality, physical properties, mechanical properties and biodegradability of carrageenan-chitosan bioplastics with glycerol plasticizer. Carrageenan is obtained from extraction of Kappaphycus sp. who comes from the Yapen Islands, Papua Province. Making a carrageenan bioplastic solution by dissolving carrageenan flour (1; 1.5; 2; 2.5 grams) and 5 ml of glycerol in 100 ml volume of vingga distilled water then heating using a magnetic stirrer for 15 minutes at 90oC. The process of making a chitosan solution is by dissolving 2 grams of chitosan, 3 ml of glycerol, and 1 ml of glacial acetic acid in 94 ml of distilled water then heating with a magnetic stirrer for 10 minutes. The research results show that. The best concentration of carrageenan in the alginate-carrageenan composite bioplastic is 1.5 grams because it has physical and mechanical properties that meet the Japanese Industrial Standard and SNI 7188.7:2016 except for water resistance.</em></p> May Tree Simamora Ervina Indriyani Dirk Y.P. The urgency of this research is that until now the use of palm fruit skin to make liquid smoke is still very rare or non-existent. This research aims to characterize the contents of liquid smoke from Nipah fruit skin and determine its potential as an antibacterial against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The research stages were divided into 3 stages, namely the liquid smoke production stage, the liquid smoke characterization stage and its antibacterial potential, and the data processing stage. The data obtained was analyzed comparatively descriptively. The research results showed that the compounds contained in liquid smoke included total acids (as acetic acid), total phenolics and carbonyls. With the compounds contained and its acidic pH value, liquid smoke from Nipah fruit peel (Nypa fruticans) has very strong antibacterial capabilities at a concentration of 100%. Nitrate, which consists of nitrogen and oxygen, has both natural and anthropogenic sources. Meanwhile, phosphate, which contains phosphorus and oxygen, is an important component in plant nutrition. This is a problem in the Bodri River Estuary, Kendal. The objective of this study was to assess the nitrate and phosphate content and their distribution pattern. The research was conducted based on observation method with spatio-temporal approach. A total of 9 research stations and sampling times were June 30, September 1 and October 27, 2018. Nitrate and phosphate content were determined as independent variables. The results showed that the nitrate content at 9 research stations in the Bodri River Estuary was in the range of 0.48-0.8 mg/l and Phosphate 0.8-4.0 mg/l, Kendal Regency was in a fertile/eutrophic condition. One type of freshwater ornamental fish that has a unique difference from the others is Betta ornamental fish. Betta fish is one type of ornamental fish that is in demand by the public, but the breeders of this betta fish are mostly confused about how to increase the brightness of the color of betta fish. Based on this background, this study aims to determine the effect of adding carrot flour with different concentrations in commercial feed on the color intensity of halfmoon betta fish (Betta splendens).This study used an experimental method with a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) of 4 treatments and 3 repeats. Then the variables observed include, fish brightness, fish weight, fish length, fish daily length, fish survival, and water quality. Furthermore, the observed data and data processing is carried out with SPSS statistical software 25.The addition of carrot flour in commercial feed can affect markedly (P&gt;0.05). This makes the need for seaweed as a raw material increasingly increasing, apart from that the international market is also aggressively receiving seaweed from Indonesia. Southeast Maluku and the city of Tual have sufficient grass potential available. Nutmeg is a local fruit that is often found in the Maluku area. Kur District is one of the sub-districts of Tual City, which has quite abundant nutmeg plantations. So far, people only use mace and seeds, while the flesh is thrown away, even though the flesh is the largest component of nutmeg, namely 1:4. Jelly drink is a gel-shaped drink that is easy to suck, chewy and can be consumed as a hunger quencher. Gels can be formed through the mechanism of junction zone formation by hydrocolloids (such as carrageenan) together with sugar and acid. This drink has a viscosity level between fruit juice and jelly (Zega, 2010). Jelly drinks can be useful for improving digestion because this product contains fiber so it can also be categorized as a functional drink. Jelly drinks can be given additional ingredients containing vitamins to increase their nutritional value (Sudirjo and Ohoiwutun, 2015). The addition of nutmeg juice to jelly drinks has never been done. This research aims to determine the level of consumer acceptance of seaweed (E. cottonii) jelly drink with added nutmeg juice (Myristica fragrans Houtt). The research was conducted in December 2022 - January 2023, at the Fisheries Product Processing Laboratory, Tual State Fisheries Polytechnic. The ingredients used are dried E. cottonii seaweed and fresh nutmeg, as well as additional granulated sugar. The results showed that the addition of nutmeg juice with a concentration of 20% was preferred by the panelists, both in terms of appearance, color, texture, smell and taste parameters.</em></p> Kristhina P. One ingredient that can be used to increase fish growth is mangrove leaf extract. Mangrove leaves contain the most antibacterial compounds. This research used mangrove leaf extract Avicennia sp. which was added to the feed with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The research method used was experimental with a research duration of one month. The test results were processed using ANOVA and further tested using the Duncan Test. Based on research that has been carried out, the addition of mangrove leaf extract Avicennia sp. on feed can increase the growth of milkfish including length growth and feed efficiency with the best treatment, namely treatment B with a dose of mangrove extract of 75 ppm/500 grams of feed.</p> Wijianto Ashari Fahrurrozi Copyright (c) 2023 ACROPORA: Jurnal Ilmu Kelautan dan Perikanan Papua 2023-12-29 2023-12-29 6 2 95 99 10.31957/acr.v6i2.3503 Daya dukung kualitas air harian untuk pertumbuhan ikan nila (<i>Oreochromis niloticus</i>) dalam kolam budidaya di Balai Benih Ikan Lokal (BBIL) Koya Barat Distrik Muara Tami Kota Jayapura <p><em>This research aims to determine the daily carrying capacity of water quality in tilapia cultivation ponds at the West Koya Local Fish Seed Center (BBIL), Muara Tami District, Jayapura City. This research used two earthen ponds measuring 25 x 50 m, water depth 30-50 cm, water volume 100 L in one pond. Tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) with an average length of 20 cm and weight of 243 grams were used in this study. Feed at a rate of 3% of fish biomass is given three times a day. The water quality parameters observed in this study were water temperature measured using a digital thermometer, dissolved oxygen using a DO meter DO 30N, water acidity using a pH meter, pH-240L, SERA aqua-test kit used to measure ammonia and nitrate. This research shows that the water quality parameters observed are normal according to the needs of tilapia fish. There are many potentials that can be utilised by the community, especially people living in coastal areas. Therefore, many coastal communities make fisheries and marine resources a source of life and livelihood. However, this does not make the condition of the people living in the coastal area prosperous. analyse the exchange rate of gill net fishermen in Parigi Sub-district, Pangandaran Regency and analyse the factors that influence the exchange rate of gill net fishermen in Parigi Sub-district, Pangandaran Regency. This research uses quantitative descriptive analysis located in Parigi Sub-district, Pangandaran Regency. The research used purposive sampling method with 40 respondents. The data used in this study are primary and secondary data. This research analysis uses the Exchange Rate formula and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The average Exchange Rate of Gill Net Fishing Gear Fishermen in Parigi District is 109.72. This shows that the condition of Gill Net fishing gear fishermen in Parigi District is at a fairly prosperous level in meeting the needs of their households because the average obtained is&gt; 100. Factors that influence the Fishermen's Exchange Rate include the Number of Family Dependents (X1), Work Deployment (X2), Income (X3), and Work Experience (X4).</p> Fakhry Hadiana Atikah Nurhayati Ine Maulina Asep Agus Handaka Suryana Copyright (c) 2023 ACROPORA: Jurnal Ilmu Kelautan dan Perikanan Papua 2023-12-30 2023-12-30 6 2 106 116 10.31957/acr.v6i2.3233 Analisis Pencemaran Biologis Perairan Pantai Wisata Holtekamp Berdasarkan Kepadatan Bakteri Coliform <p><em>Holtekamp Sea is located in Youtefa Bay, directly connected to the Acai River, which carries waste from land-based activities such as bathing, washing, toilet, livestock farming, ponds, and agriculture. This will affect the bacteriological quality of the Holtekamp Coastal Waters. This study was conducted to analyze the quality of coliform bacteria density a an indicator of biological pollution in the waters of Holtekamp Beach Seawater sample were collected in April 2023. Bacteriological analysis was performed at Papua Regional Health Laboratory using the Most probable number (MPN) method. The research result show that the Nitrate range at stations I to III is 1.70, exceeding the water quality standard of 0.008 according to Decree of Minister of Environment No. 51 of 2004. Furthermore, coliform at stations I to III, it is more than equal to 1898 MPN/100 mL. Meanwhile, the total density of fecal coliform bacteria at stations I and II is 20 MPN/100 mL, and station III is 9 MPN/100 mL. According to Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 51 of 2004, the presence of coliform bacteria in the waters of Holtekamp Beach has exceeded the water quality standard. Thus, the total concentration of nitrate and coliform bacteria density indicates poor water quality or contamination</em></p> Popi Ida Laila Ayer Vera K.
