Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of computer-based learning through digital materials and online discussions on the learning outcomes of students in the Civics Education Study Program at Cenderawasih University. A quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest experimental design was applied to 60 students from the 2022 cohort. Data were collected through cognitive and psychomotor learning outcome tests, as well as a learning motivation questionnaire administered after the treatment. The computer-based learning intervention lasted for eight weeks, involving access to digital materials, online discussions, and structured assignments. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a t-test to compare scores before and after the treatment. The results showed that the mean cognitive score increased from 56.83 to 80.83, and the psychomotor score increased from 50.83 to 78.78. The t-test revealed a significant difference (p < 0.05), and 85% of students reported feeling more motivated. These findings confirm that computer-based learning is effective in improving Civics Education students' learning outcomes through the provision of digital materials, flexibility, and online academic interaction. This study implies the importance of strengthening digital literacy and integrating technology into Civics Education courses in higher education.
