Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Masyarakat Nelayan Di Distrik Jayapura Selatan Kota Jayapura

Peneltian ini didanai oleh Program Magister Ilmu Ekonomi (MIE) Universitas Cenderawasih Tahun Anggaran 2016. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji: 1) kebijakan pemberdayaan masyarakat nelayan di Distrik Jayapura Selatan; 2) faktor apa yang berperan dalam peningkatan pendapatan nelayan; 3) Strategi pengembangan usaha diversifikasi produksi ikan; dan 4) penangkapan ikan tidak merusak lingkungan pesisir. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa implementasi program pemberdayaan, cuaca, lokasi pasar dan juga metode menangkap ikan secara aggregate berpengaruh terhadap tingkat pendapatan nelayan. Selanjutnya, output matriks korelasi memperlihatkan bahwa program pengentasan kemiskinan mempunyai peran yang cukup signifikan terhadap tingkat pendapatan masyarakat. Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pemberian modal usaha serta penangkapan ikan dengan memperhatikan lingkungan menjadi sangat penting dalam rangka pengembangan usaha perikanan yang berkelanjutan.
