KARAKTERISTIK ASTAXANTHIN SEBAGAI ANTIOKSIDAN
Abstract
Astaxanthin merupakan karotenoid utama pada organisme akuatik seperti udang, ikan salmon, dan lobster. Senyawa tersebut mampu mencegah berbagai penyakit degeneratif seperti kanker, katarak, dan jantung. Hal ini didukung dengan adanya aktivitas oksidatif dan non-oksidatif sebagai pencegah pembentukan sel yang tidak sehat. Dalam tulisan ini mengulas tentang karakteristik astaxanthin sebagai antioksidan dalam kaitannya sebagai pencegah penyakit kanker.
