Plagiarism Policy
Jurnal Biologi Papua is committed to maintaining academic integrity, originality, and ethical scholarly publishing in accordance with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Similarity Screening
All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening before peer review. The journal establishes a maximum acceptable similarity index of 20%.
Manuscripts with a similarity index of 20% or lower may proceed to editorial evaluation, provided that no significant plagiarism is identified. Manuscripts exceeding 20% may be returned for revision or rejected.
The similarity score is not the sole indicator of plagiarism. The editorial team evaluates overlapping text, proper citations, and the originality of the manuscript.
Prohibited Practices
The journal prohibits direct plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate paraphrasing, and unauthorized use of research data, figures, or images.
Editorial Actions
When potential plagiarism is identified, editors may request clarification, require revision, conduct additional screening, or reject the manuscript based on the severity of the violation.
Authors' Responsibilities
Authors must ensure the originality of their work, acknowledge all sources appropriately, and disclose related publications.
Post-Publication Misconduct
Suspected plagiarism discovered after publication will be investigated in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and Retraction Policy. Corrective actions may include corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions following COPE guidelines.
