Publication Ethics

Cenderawasih Constitutional Review is committed to maintaining integrity, quality, and ethical standards throughout the scholarly publication process. This publication ethics policy applies to authors, editors, reviewers, and all parties involved in the publication process. It is intended to ensure that all publication activities are conducted transparently, objectively, responsibly, and in accordance with the principles of academic integrity.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for:

  1. Presenting research findings accurately, objectively, and responsibly.
  2. Ensuring that the submitted article is original and does not contain plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification of data.
  3. Ensuring that the article is not under review or has not been published in another journal or publication outlet.
  4. Properly acknowledging and citing all sources used in the article in accordance with scholarly citation practices.
  5. Ensuring that all individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research are appropriately acknowledged or listed as authors according to their contributions.
  6. Disclosing any potential conflicts of interest that may affect the results or interpretation of the research.
  7. Revising the manuscript in accordance with the review process and taking responsibility for the final published version.
  8. Notifying the editor if a significant error is identified in the published article and cooperating in the correction or retraction process when necessary.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  1. Evaluating manuscripts based on academic quality, relevance to the journal's focus and scope, and compliance with publication requirements.
  2. Ensuring an objective editorial process without discrimination based on the authors' background.
  3. Maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts throughout the editorial and peer-review processes.
  4. Selecting reviewers with appropriate expertise and relevant knowledge of the subject matter.
  5. Avoiding conflicts of interest in editorial decision-making.
  6. Ensuring that publication decisions are based on academic quality and the outcomes of the peer-review process.
  7. Addressing allegations of publication misconduct appropriately and proportionately.
  8. Taking corrective action when errors, ethical violations, or integrity concerns are identified in published articles.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are responsible for:

  1. Conducting reviews objectively, constructively, and professionally.
  2. Maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts and not using information obtained during the review process for personal advantage.
  3. Identifying relevant published works or sources that have not been appropriately cited by the authors, where applicable.
  4. Informing the editor of any conflict of interest that may affect the objectivity of the review.
  5. Completing reviews within the specified timeframe or informing the editor if they are unable to complete the review.
  6. Avoiding discriminatory, personal, or inappropriate comments unrelated to the academic quality of the manuscript.

4. Plagiarism and Publication Misconduct

Cenderawasih Constitutional Review does not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, or other forms of academic or publication misconduct.

Manuscripts may be screened using appropriate plagiarism or similarity-detection tools. Where potential ethical misconduct is identified, the editor may conduct further investigation and take appropriate action based on the nature and severity of the violation and applicable policies.

5. Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers are required to disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect the objectivity of the publication process. Conflicts of interest may include professional, financial, institutional, personal, or other relevant interests associated with the manuscript.

6. Corrections and Retractions

If significant errors or serious ethical issues affecting the integrity of a published article are identified, the journal may publish a correction, clarification, or retraction in accordance with its applicable editorial procedures.
