Peer Review Process
Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Kajian Ekonomi dan Studi Pembangunan (JKESP) undergoes a rigorous peer review process to maintain the quality and integrity of scholarly publications.
Peer Review Workflow
1. Initial Evaluation (Desk Review)
The Editor conducts an initial screening of the manuscript's alignment with the journal's Scope and Focus, as well as compliance with the Author Guidelines, including citation quality and the currency of the bibliography. A plagiarism check was performed using Turnitin software. Manuscripts that do not align or exhibit a high similarity index above 30% will be rejected at this stage. Manuscripts with a similarity index of 25–30% may be returned to the author for revision. A similarity index below 25% is considered acceptable for citations, bibliographies and common phrases.
2. Peer Reviewing (Double-Blind Review)
Manuscripts that pass the desk review are assigned to at least two Peer Reviewers anonymously. JKESP implements a Double-Blind Review policy, meaning that the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential to ensure strict objectivity.
3. Reviewers' Recommendation
Reviewers evaluate the scientific substance, methodology, novelty, and academic contribution of the paper and provide one of the following recommendations:
- Accept Submission: Accepted without revisions
- Revisions Required: Accepted with minor revisions
- Resubmit for Review: Requires major revisions and a secondary review round
- Decline Submission: Rejected
4. Final Decision
Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers' feedback. The final decision regarding publication rests entirely with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the quality of revisions and recommendations of the editorial board.
